Happy New Year!
Now that the excitement of January 1st is over and all resolutions have been made (and maybe broken) I think it’s time to realistically look forward to 2018.
While I’m not one to really make a new years resolution, it is a nice starting place. A clean slate from which to look at the year ahead. Anyone planning on ‘eating healthy’?
Eating Healthy
The more clients I talk to the more I realize people really do want to eat well. They don’t want to sabotage their health with crappy food. The problem is, what’s healthy? Wanting to eat healthy is very different than knowing what is healthy to eat.
I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of ‘eating healthy plans’. Will the plan work for you? Maybe, maybe not. I believe, if you have an understanding about why foods are healthy vs. unhealthy it is easier to make lifestyle change. I didn’t say diet, I said lifestyle change. The kind of change that results in an ‘eating healthy plan’ of your own design. Or, put another way, healthy eating habits. That’s right, habits, lifestyle changes, not a diet with a start and end date.
Perhaps weight loss is a 2018 goal of yours and maybe you’ve even googled ‘healthy eating habits to lose weight’. Did you read the list of habits? Did it ring true for you? Something you could easily implement into your lifestyle? Again, maybe, maybe not. Understanding what food is and how it will effect your body is the key. This is the information that will allow you to create your own list of healthy eating habits. Habits that will more than likely result in weight loss but what gets me really excited is the other stuff. Stuff like increased energy, happy mood, better sleep, feeling like exercising, and saying goodbye to being ‘hangry’.
7-Days to a Healthier You
Many of you have gone through my 7-Days to a Healthier You email series. Hopefully you found the information informative and useful. For this jump start I’m going to bring that 7-Day series back. Let’s revisit the ideas I outlined in those 7-Days. This is where I typically start with every private client I work with. The information is foundational. Understanding what food is and its impact on body function.
If you’ve gone through the 7-day series, I encourage you to join this Jump Start and go through the information again. It’s a great time for a refresher!
