Low-Carb Thanksgiving
It’s Thanksgiving week! My two previous posts for the month of November we about accessory foods, stuffing and desserts. Today’s post is about the main course, turkey and other ideas beyond just a traditional whole turkey.
How To Make A Perfect Turkey
I ran across this beautiful image and article about how to make a perfect turkey and thought I’d pass it along. One of the suggestions is to brine the turkey. I totally agree with this. Brining makes all the difference. This article uses a brine with brown sugar, you may want look for a more keto friendly brine, like this one. There’s nothing like a perfectly roasted, juicy turkey.
Simple Turkey For A Smaller Crowd
Maybe you don’t need a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. If you’re cooking for a smaller crowd you might find this crock pot turkey breast recipe not only super easy but the perfect size. The image and recipe are from Love To Be In The Kitchen.
Rolled Stuffed Turkey Breast
My family doesn’t love turkey. They do love stuffed chicken though. I guess I could just do stuffed chicken but that’s so ordinary. I thought a stuffed turkey breast might be a great compromise. This recipe looks delicious, you can find the image and recipe over at Once Upon A Chef. It’s NOT a keto or low-carb recipe but it’s super easy to convert. The issues, bread crumbs/stuffing mix. Not a huge issue. You can make a keto bread and use that as the “bread” part for the stuffing or you can try keto boxed mix from Good Dee’s Sugar-Free Sweetness, Corn Free Bread – Low-Carb Baking Mix (you can buy this here at my amazon affiliate account).
Stuffed Pork Tenderloin
Maybe your family isn’t interested in turkey at all. Here’s a beautiful picture and delicious bacon wrapped stuff pork recipe from Ruledme.com. No need to make any modifications with the recipe, it’s a perfect low-carb/keto meal.
Keto Gravy
If you are going to be enjoying turkey this Thanksgiving you might want to include some delicious keto gravy. I LOVE gravy. This image and the recipe for this Ultimate Keto Gravy can be found over at KetoDietApp.com
